Sharon has been a Walton Parish Councillor for many years and is passionate about the local community. Sharon is currently Chair of the Parish Council. "I am proud to be part of such a hard working group of councillors. Community is at the heart of what I do and I am always happy to hear from residents."
Amanda has recently joined the Parish Council with a commitment to wanting to help her local community. Amanda is particularly interested in finding ways to keep our local area, and home town, clean, green and healthy for everyone.
Richard been along standing councillor on the Parish Council. As a local farmer, many of you will have seen him working on various projects within the Parish.
Cllr Hardie, has been a parish councillor since 1992. Consequently, he has taken an active part all aspects of the work of the council.
David has recently joined the Parish Council, he is a long standing resident having lived in Walton for 20 years. David has an interest in helping to both maintain and further develop our environment. He has a particular interest in the history of the parish and has produced a Parish Heritage Trail. Denise joined the Parish Council 5 years ago because she wanted to play a part in the democratic decisions the Parish Council takes on behalf of residents. Denise cares about Walton and takes a pride in our beautiful parish; she serves on the Betterment Committee & has played an active role in recent community events.
Cllr Shaikh has been on the parish council for 16 years. From his early days as a Councillor, he initiated the tree planting in the parish which has continued. Parishioners may recall that there was a campaign to 'save' Walton Hall Estate when it was to be sold to a hotel group. Cllr Shaikh was responsible for authoring the report which led to the decision to retain Walton Hall for the public.
Anita has lived in Higher Walton for over 25 years, bringing up her family here. "I have been grateful to all the neighbours who have given their time, to the Parish Council, over the years and feel it is time I contributed too! I look forward to helping keep Walton a great place to live in."
Viv has lived in the Parish of Walton since May 1993. She recently returned to Walton Parish Council after a break of seven years, having been a councillor for 15 years and Chair in 2002. As a Director of the Walton Lea Partnership, she took the lead in collaborating on the bid for lottery funding that delivered unique learning facilities for land skills students and adults with learning disabilities. Viv believes that the beauty and amenity of Walton must be preserved and enhanced for the benefit of people living in the Parish and enjoyment by the wider community.
John has recently joined the Parish Council. Being a resident of Higher Walton for over thirty years, he has regularly taken part in parish activities. His primary aim as a parish councillor is to contribute and co-operate with the other councillors in the parish activities. To begin with, he has joined Parish Betterment, Events and Donations Committees.
Christina is a long time resident of Walton. Recently retired from teaching she wants to take an active role in the local community. She feels "We are lucky to live in such a lovely area. I would like to play a part in enhancing and maintaining it for future generations."
The Responsible Officer of the Parish Council is the Clerk. Ray has been the Clerk at WPC since 2009. "I very much enjoy my role in ensuring that the administration and financial matters of the parish run smoothly."
